On 23rd October 2013, in Sofia, in the building of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications held the Third National Forum of the project DaHar. The meeting was opened by the Executive Director of the Executive Agency "Maritime Administration"- Capt. Georgi Tsvetkov, actively attended by representatives of the executive, professional associations and transport associations, businesses and others. Conversations and opinions gathered around the theme that the main priority should be to improve navigation conditions in the Bulgarian section of the Danube. This issue should be resolved at the international level of decision-makers parties.
Preparation and presentation of high-level in Brussels on an integrated strategy for the promotion of transport logistics in the region, improving the economic performance of the settlements along the Danube - these are the main objectives of the project, which is implemented under South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme.
Captain inland navigation Mr. Tony Todorov, project manager of the Executive Agency "Maritime Administration" and director of MA - Lom, presented the results of the project. For Silistra Municipality the presentation was about the progress and results achieved so far in the project. Silistra RIS was also presented and its ability to track the movement of vessels, statistics, throughput vessels, etc. Some issues arising during the meeting were discussed also, the interest was mainly focused on the opportunities for financing of measures for improvement of navigation in the next programming period, the practical application of the analysis and recommendations for the development of ports and private ports that can benefit from them.
